Miami, Florida – From November 9-11, 2016 the Commercial Financial Association will be holding its 72nd annual convention at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, Florida. Headlining speakers include former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and professional tennis player Venus Williams.

The 2016 CFA convention will draw together commercial lenders from all over the country to discuss everything from business practices to politics. Set on the stunning and iconic South Beach, the 2016 convention will be held right along the shore at the Fontainebleau. The event’s main draws include some of the country’s biggest names in sports, politics, and even espionage.

2016 CFA Convention Speakers

This year’s convention begins with several fun opportunities including mixology classes and golf outings. At 11 a.m., following Governor Jeb Bush and Governor Martin O’Malley, two crowd favorite panels will take place: “View from the Top: Large Commercial Lenders” and “View from the Top: Independent Commercial Lenders.” Both panels deal with the convention’s overarching themes and offer unique perspectives from within the practice of commercial lending. Other hot topics covered include fraud, entrepreneurial lending, and women in commercial finance.

CEO of Allied Financial and Convention Committee Chairperson, Steven Gold, believes “this year’s lineup — celebrity speakers, relevant and trending panels, networking, and beyond — will provide invaluable insight into today’s asset based lending and factoring climate and everything that affects it.”

For a refreshing departure from commercial lending shop talk, the convention will hear from two people who have enjoyed incredible success in their respective fields. World-renowned athlete Venus Williams will be giving Thursday’s lunch speech on the benefits of hard work, determination, and what it’s like to be a successful businesswoman. As one of the final speeches on Friday, James Olson, former CIA agent and professor of intelligence and national security at Texas A&M, will speak about his experiences as a spy and his thoughts on the future of the war on terror.
